The Orange Coast College is an established community college located in Orange County, California. The school has operated 70 years, with classes first beginning around 1948. With an estimated 24,000 undergraduate students currently enrolled each year, it is one of the largest colleges in Orange County.

The school offers a variety of certifications, Associate Degrees and transferable college credit courses for all students. The Costa Mesa located school is nestled in a suburban area just 40 miles outside of the state’s most populated city of Los Angeles.

Along with a very successful academic achievement rate, Orange Coast College is also known for a very popular plant with the locals. Nicknamed Dougie, the 30 pound plant has garnered attention for its oddly scented fragrance. Set to bloom in late June or early July, the Armorphophallus Titanium Plant (corpse flower) has helped boost the popularity of the school.

Admirers across the state often visit this uniquely fragrant flower. Students full of curiosity will gain a chance to smell this corpse like scented plant. Orange Coast College will display the plant in the Administration building for all tourists and enrolled students.

At 5ft tall, Dougie is expected to continuously flourish with the school. The plant has been with the school over 5 years now. Hand flourished by the school, Dougie often attracts an audience based on its appearance and scent as well. Native to the wild areas Indonesia, the plant takes an average of 10 years for its very first bloom.

Last year alone, over 1,000 guest visited the campus to get a glance and whiff of Dougie. Most individuals donate funds to help support the college which cares for such an unique plant.

The Armorphophallus Titanium Plant is an endangered species in the wild. It’s notorious smell is the direct result of bettles mating and assisting in the pollination process. Its evening bloom is expected to draw in crowds as individuals witness a rare experience in Orange County.

Julie Zuckerberg, a lead recruiter in the financial industry, joined Deutsche Bank as the talent acquisition lead and executive recruitment lead at Deutsche Bank in 2014. Success Academy Scores Win Over NY School System

Success Academy won a big victory over New City Schools in an appellate court judgement. Success Academy wanted to run a pre-k program free from restrictions set for by the city of New York. A judge ruled that the big charter school network is allowed to run their pre-k program without signing the contract with the city as a part of the universal pre-k initiative. Another sweet win is that the city must pay Success 720,000 in tuition reimbursement they refused to pay when the charter school wouldn’t sign the contract.

CEO Eva Moskowitz felt that the contract gave the city too much oversight into the operations of the independent charter network. She refused to sign. This refusal led to a two-year long battle with the courts. Moskowitz felt that Mayor Bill de Blasio never really embraced or respected that charter schools are supposed to be independent of the public school system. The city pre-k contract had restrictions that Success Academy did not agree with, like limiting electronic devices to 15 minutes a day or no more than three field trips involving transportation.

Success Academy opened three pre-k programs without signing the contract during the 2015-2016 school year. First, Success Academy sought help from the New York State City Commissioner MaryEllen Elia. She sided with the city, so Success went to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled against them, so they went to the Appellate court. The right to inspect versus the right to regulate is what the decision boiled down to. State of New York has the right to conduct inspection of charter schools, but they do not have the right to regulate them.

Success has decided they will move forward and open their pre-k programs again. Since the lottery has already been run, they will have to wait until the next school year. They can plan for staffing needs for the new program. Moskowitz continues to fight for her charter’s right to operate independently from the city.

Kim Dao liked the eye shadow, mascara, and especially the makeup remover. The cosmetics store management let Kim Dao and Sunny apply some makeup and gave them both a makeup gift bag. The two ladies drank flavored hot tea while Kim Dao opened her gift bag. Some of the goodies included 16 Brand groom cream, toner, finger pen for lips, and eyeliner pen,Even though Kim Dao didn’t feel well, she and Sunny went to lunch.
