DAMAC Owner Hussain began his business career with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries as a member of the finance department.
2002 saw the establishment of DAMAC Properties which is now one of the largest companies of its type in the Middle East. DAMAC had an interesting beginning with its foundations lying in providing foodservice to the U.S. military during the Gulf War in 1991.
Hussain has developed a valuable real estate development relationship with United States President Donald Trump and is proud the fact that he is the president’s go-to developer in the region.
Hussain also holds the distinction of being one of the 100 most influential Arabs in the world today.
The most recent and exciting deal reached between Hussain and President Trump occurred just prior to his victory in the presidential race. It includes an international golf club that has brought in nearly $2 billion in profits so far for the two businessmen.
Hussain’s business relationship with President Trump extends from Hussain Sajwani family to the family of the president. Donald’s daughter and two sons are involved.
DAMAC Properties follows three guiding principles in its business practices. Firstly, it pays 100% for properties that it acquires to develop, secondly it doesn’t transfer money from account to account and finally, the company reserves cash in government bonds in case the market takes a turn. Now that Dubai is experiencing a huge economic turnaround, Hussain is planning on expanding operations. He believes that soon the company will resolve a dispute that had been ongoing in Egypt and will open up expansion opportunity.
Hussain has developed a well-earned level of praise and respect for his work as a businessman, but he is also well respected for his philanthropic work. The chairman recently donated AED 2 million to help in the battle against child poverty around the world.
The donation is on behalf of Hussain family. This donation was part of the Ramadan Initiative that was started by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
